The present study carried out under Biodiversity Impact Assessment survey for the proposed Uranium Mining at Nalgonda district, Telangana, India. diversity and distribution pattern of butterflies were observed in region. A total 58 species belonging to 42 genera 5 families recorded. studies conducted from April, 2010 December, 2013. Of recorded recorded, Nymphalidae was as most dominant family represented by 22 (37.9%) followed Lycaenidae 14 (24.1%), Pieridae 13 (22.4%), Papilionidae 4 (6.9%), Hesperiidae (8.6%). role this tiny creatures ecosystem is vital an urgent attention needed preserve conserve butterfly long term sustainability.
